What is Movement, Meditation and Medicine?

Chi Gung and Tai Chi are powerful healing systems that can best be described as energy medicine. These arts cleanse, strengthen and circulate the lifeforce through breathing techniques, gentle movements and meditation.

The exercises that we refer to involve the body and the mind. Every part of your body is exercised including the body’s internal structure, using mind control and focus.  Many of these sequences are originally derived from the martial arts, which in turn studied the natural movements of animals and birds, noting the slow, soft and graceful transitions between each action.

It is believed that balance was an Ideal situation, and the physical body was always moving and shifting to different situations, understanding this adjustment from being balance to unbalance, of the mind body and soul, based on these 3 aspect of  Movement Mediation Medicine  because in reality nothing is absolute because nothing holds perfect balance this is explained  In the Yellow Emperor’s Classic of Medicine (the Neijing Suwen) ~240 B.C.  This book has never been dated because in ancient times  observation that occurred with our bodies in relation to the season weather and climate together with diet exercise and emotional shift for these observations this was the system of Movement Mediation Medicine.

The difference between Tai Chi and Chi Gung

The difference between Tai chi (ultimate fist) and Chi Gung is that Tai Chi is based on martial arts. Tai Chi patterns are performed slowly to help aid your focus and concentration. These slow movements build up muscle memory which has the added benefit of relieving stress, fatigue and hypertension, as well as keeping you young.

Chi Gung (energy exercise ) is the art of deep breathing relating to acupuncture points, because you breath though your tan t'ien (point above your navel). Chi Gung is best explained and felt when you describe the sensation of having that 'butterflies' feeling in your stomach- that's your chi. Chi Gung exercises your internal organs, promoting health and wellbeing. Chi Gung and Tai Chi have similar health benifits but chi Gung is much more effective in treating conditions like high blood pressure, headaches, stiffness and heart problems, to name just a few.
